Homes in Queens Park
What we check on a Queens Park home.
Every house is different, but homes in Queens Park raise the same few questions. We answer them on the site visit, before you see a price.
Heritage conservation areas
Parts of Queens Park are in Waverley heritage conservation areas, including the Queens Park area, which covers much of the suburb. Extra rules apply to panels seen from the street, so we check your address against the council map before we design anything.
Terraces and semis
About 38% of homes in Queens Park are semis, terraces or townhouses (2021 Census). The roof is small and shared at the party wall, so we lay panels out on the faces that are yours and tell you honestly how big a system fits.
Mostly freestanding houses
About 36% of homes in Queens Park are separate houses (2021 Census). That usually means room on the roof for a good-sized system and a garage or side wall for the battery. We check both on the site visit.
The battery rebate
The rebate, in plain English.
A battery charges from your solar during the day so the house runs on it at night, instead of buying that power from the grid. The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program takes money off the price of the battery.
Straight off the price
$4,170* off an 18kWh battery, taken off your quote. SIPENERGY claims it as the accredited installer, so there's no form for you to fill in later.
It goes in with solar
The battery has to be installed with solar panels: the ones already on your roof, or new ones fitted at the same time.
Smaller from 1 January
From 1 January 2027 the same battery gets $3,490*. The install date decides the amount, not the date you sign.
*18kWh battery installed with solar by 31 Dec 2026, federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program. $3,490 from 1 Jan 2027. Depends on battery size and certificate prices.

What SIPENERGY customers say
Frequently asked
Batteries in Queens Park, answered.
My Queens Park house is in a heritage conservation area. Can I still get solar and a battery?
Usually, yes. The rules mainly affect panels visible from the street, so rear and side roof faces are often fine, and the battery generally goes out of sight in a garage or side passage. We check your address before designing anything.
I have a terrace in Queens Park. Is it worth it?
It depends on how much power you use in the evening, not the size of the house. A small roof means a smaller solar system, and the battery is sized to what that system can fill. Send us a power bill and we'll tell you if it stacks up.
How much is the battery rebate?
$4,170* off an 18kWh battery installed with solar. It's the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program and it comes straight off the price on your quote, so there's nothing to claim later. On 1 January 2027 it drops to $3,490* for the same battery, and the install date decides which amount you get.
Do I need solar panels already?
The battery has to be installed with solar. If you already have panels, we can usually add a battery to them. If you don't, we put panels and a battery in together, and the solar earns its own federal rebate too.
What's a kWh, and what size battery do I need?
A kWh (kilowatt-hour) is how much energy a battery holds. 10kWh suits a lot of family homes; households with evening air con, a pool or an electric car often go larger. Your power bill shows how much you use and when, which is why we ask for one before recommending a size.
Will a battery pay for itself?
It depends on your tariff, how much power you use in the evening, and whether you have solar already. A battery stores solar from the middle of the day so the house can run on it at night instead of buying from the grid. Savings vary from home to home, and we'll give you our honest read rather than a guaranteed number.
Will a battery keep the lights on in a blackout?
It can, if the system is set up for backup. Not every installation is, so tell us if that matters to you and we'll design for it.
Which batteries does SIPENERGY install?
Sigenergy is the brand we recommend first, followed by GoodWe and Sungrow, and we fit the Tesla Powerwall 3 on request.
Who does the install in Queens Park?
Our own licensed electricians, from Sydney. SIPENERGY was started by Nicholas Sipple, an electrician, and every install carries a 12-year workmanship warranty on top of the battery maker's own.
The small print
- 18kWh battery installed with solar by 31 Dec 2026, federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program. $3,490 from 1 Jan 2027. Depends on battery size and certificate prices. The rebate is a federal government program, not a SIPENERGY discount. It is applied at the point of sale by SIPENERGY as the accredited installer. Amounts depend on usable battery capacity, installation date and certificate prices, and the program pays a reduced rate on capacity above 14kWh. Indicative only. The 3,000+ figure counts solar and battery systems SIPENERGY has installed for homes and businesses.
