Privacy policy

This policy covers SIPENERGY Pty Ltd (ABN 41 641 001 032), trading as SIPENERGY (“we”, “us”). We design and install solar, battery and EV charging systems for homes and businesses. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

We only collect what we need to quote, install, support and stay in touch.

• Contact details: your name, email, phone number and address.
• About your property and energy use: whether you own the home, your roof, switchboard and meter, existing solar or batteries, and power bills or usage data you send us.
• For businesses: the business name, your role, site details and energy data. For a funded commercial system, the information Agile Energy needs for its credit assessment.
• To install and claim rebates: the owner’s details and the system details that the federal small-scale rebate (STCs) and your electricity network require.
• Payments: invoice and payment records. We don’t store card numbers on this website.
• Photos: photos of the installation, taken for quality and warranty records.
• Website use: pages visited, the device and browser, and roughly where you are (see Cookies and analytics below).

We don’t ask for sensitive information such as health or financial hardship details. If you tell us something like that (for example, that someone at home relies on powered medical equipment), we use it only to plan the work safely.

• When you fill in a form on this website, call, email or message us.
• When you enter a competition or claim an offer we run.
• During a site visit, a quote and the installation.
• From someone who refers you. If you refer a friend, please make sure they're happy for us to contact them.
• Automatically, when you use this website (see Cookies and analytics).

You can ask a general question without giving your name. To quote or install, we need to know who you are and where the system is going.

• Answering your enquiry, visiting your site and preparing a quote.
• Installing, connecting and commissioning your system, and claiming rebates on your behalf.
• Warranty, service and safety follow-ups.
• Running competitions and applying offers, as set out in each promotion's terms.
• Sending you news and offers, if you've agreed to receive them.
• Improving our website and services, and meeting our legal and accreditation obligations.

We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only where it’s needed to do the work, or the law requires it:

• Government and regulators: the Clean Energy Regulator, to create and register the STCs that reduce your system’s price, and any state agency running a rebate you apply for.
• Your electricity network and retailer: for grid connection approval and meter changes.
• Agile Energy: for commercial enquiries about funded solar. The form on our commercial offer page is Agile’s, so those details go to Agile directly, and its own privacy policy applies to them.
• Manufacturers and suppliers: to register warranties on panels, inverters and batteries.
• Our service providers: the companies that run our customer database and email (Pipedrive), host this website (Vercel), measure website use (Google Analytics) and store our business email and files. They may only use your information to provide that service to us.
• Professional advisers and authorities: our accountants, lawyers and insurers where needed, and anyone we’re required to disclose to by law.

Where a club or partner runs a promotion on its own platform, the details you give them are covered by their privacy policy.

Some of our service providers store data outside Australia. Pipedrive, Google Analytics and Vercel may store or process data in the European Union, the United States and other countries. We choose providers with recognised security and privacy standards, but overseas laws may not protect your information in the same way as Australian law.

We send marketing emails and texts only to people who have agreed to receive them, and every one has an unsubscribe option. Unsubscribing from marketing doesn’t stop messages we need to send about your quote, installation or warranty.

This website uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to count visits and show us which pages are useful. It tells us about traffic in general, not who you are. You can block cookies in your browser settings, or use Google’s opt-out add-on.

Our forms are provided by Pipedrive and our reviews widget by SolarQuotes. Both load from their own servers and may set their own cookies. When you close a promotion on our homepage, your browser remembers that for a week so it doesn’t keep appearing. That stays on your device.

We keep personal information in access-controlled systems used only by our team. We keep installation and warranty records for as long as the warranty and the law require, and we delete or de-identify information we no longer need.

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete what we don’t need to keep. Contact us using the details below. We’ll respond within 30 days and won’t charge you for making a request.
